SERVICES OFFERED BY THE PRACTICE

Baby Clinic

This is a joint clinic run by the Doctor and Practice Nurse every Thursday from 1.30 to 4.00pm. Routine developmental checks and immunisations are carried out by appointment. However, appointments. The Health Visitors are available between 1.00-3.00pm. Appointments are not required to see the Health Visitor to discuss any health queries, feeding problems, baby weighing etc.

Maternity Services

A midwife-led antenatal clinic is held every Friday from 9.00am to 12 noon by appointment only.

Family Planning Services

These are available. Please contact reception for details.

Health Promotion Clinics

Various clinics are run by the Doctor and Practice Nurses. At these clinics a physical examination including height, weight, blood pressure and urine tests are carried out. These clinics provide an ideal opportunity to discuss smoking, alcohol consumption, diet etc. We also take cervical smears, do breast examination and teach breast self-examination. Those who are on regular treatment for blood pressure, diabetes, asthma etc are reviewed and their treatment discussed every few months.

If you need an ambulance please ring 01772 325100 at least four days prior to your appointment.

Immunisation

The practice encourages full vaccination and, in addition to vaccination services for babies, pre-school children, influenza and pneumonia, we also offer a full range of travel vaccines (but not yellow fever).

Minor Surgery

Certain surgical procedures are performed by the Doctor at the medical centre which may save unnecessary hospital visits.

Smoking Cessation Service (Tel 0800 328 6297)

This service offers free confidential support during office hours. To register, please call above number for an appointment. Alternatively, make an appointment with one practice Nurse for advice.

Non-NHS Services

Our Doctors provide some services which are not covered under the NHS, including some medicals, certificates and travel vaccinations. A charge will be made for all non-NHS services. The receptionist will advise you of the costs involved.
